a spring evening

James and I just came in from enjoying the beautiful weather for a bit. We took some pictures for everyone to enjoy.

First blossoms on our plum tree.

This boy loves his frisbee!

First blossoms on our currants

See the moon?

Me and my boy (for the record I HATE this pic of me... red & puffy from my cold)

pillow case dresses

Today I was reading Heather's blog, who is also adopting from the same country that Kaedmon's from. She talked about orphanage donations she has received and mentioned the organization Little Dresses for Africa. They make dresses out of pillow cases and give them to girls in orphanages in Africa. I was inspired by this organization and have decided to make dresses to take for when we get to bring home Baby K.
This is the dress I made tonight... my very first one! Today I bought 10 pillow cases at a thrift store for $.99 each. So I guess I have supplies for nine more days!

spring's almost here

If I didn't know any better, I would say that it is Spring here in western Washington. My lilac bush had buds on it, my rhubarb is out of the ground, and the plum tree is about to bloom. I can't wait to get my "bucket garden" going!
